The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will launch the Chandrayan-2 in August 2022. The Union Minister of State Science and Technology, Jitendra Singh has said as a reply to a question in Lok Sabha, that the realisation of Chandrayan-3 is in progress based on the learnings from Chandrayan-2 and suggestions made by the national level experts.
He further said that the tests related to hardware and other special tests are successfully completed and the launch is scheduled for August 2022. The Minister also said that total 19 missions have been planned for 2022, which includes eight launch vehicle missions, seven spacecraft missions and four technology demonstrator missions. Some of the missions were impacted because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
