Modi emphasized that the security interests and development of both nations are inextricably linked. He advocated for mutual collaboration that respects each country's security interests and sensitivities.
The newly adopted vision document focuses on escalating cooperation in fields such as tourism, power, trade, higher education, skill development, and connectivity.
The Prime Minister highlighted the vision's goal to fortify maritime, air, energy, and people-to-people connectivity between India and Sri Lanka.
He revealed that discussions on an agreement focusing on economic and technological cooperation would commence shortly.
Modi expressed hope that the Sri Lankan government would address and fulfill the aspirations of the Tamil community.
The Prime Minister announced plans for conducting a feasibility study on a potential India-Sri Lanka petroleum pipeline.
