Speaking at the Elara Capital event, Sitharaman said that despite various global challenges, the Indian economy is on the path of growth at the fastest pace as compared to other major economies. For this, many efforts have been made by the government. On the question of reforms and development for the next 25 years, She said that by the time India celebrates the first century of independence, we have to fix a lot of things so that we can become a developed country by then. The government is developing digitization, education, and more and more infrastructure so that the hinterland of the country does not remain isolated from the cities. On the question of the government's plan to increase the tax-GDP ratio, the Finance Minister said that increasing the tax base is an issue that needs a lot of consultation and analysis.
