While Elon Musk has stated that he will not bring Tesla vehicles to India unless his demands are met, the rich and famous are not deterred from importing a Tesla vehicle. A privately imported long-range Tesla Model Y on a Bengaluru street has now surfaced online.
The car is shown at a washing shop in posts shared on social media by carcrazy.India, with the tailgate and left side door open. Model Y is a crossover version of Model 3 that is slightly more expensive than Model 3, Tesla's entry-level vehicle that was supposed to arrive in India last year.
According to Tesla, the long-range Model Y can transport 7 passengers and their luggage. Each second-row seat folds flat independently, allowing for versatile storage of skis, furniture, luggage, and other items. The liftgate opens to reveal a low trunk floor, making loading and unloading simple and quick.
The long-range variant has a driving range of 524 kilometers and a top speed of 217 kilometers per hour. It can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. Musk stated last month that Tesla will not manufacture cars in India unless it is permitted to sell and service its electric vehicles.
