Leading e-commerce platform in India, Flipkart has launched a new app called, Flipkart Health+. This app will provide online medicines and healthcare products such as health drinks, wellness, and hygiene products alongside others. It will compete against PharmEasy and Tata 1mg. The app is currently available for download on Google Play Store and is likely to be launched on the App Store for Apple devices in the coming days. The e-commerce platform has also launched a website to order from.
Currently, the newly launched app is offering its services to over 20,000 pin codes in India. Other than healthcare products the app will also provide health-related content including articles written by doctors and health experts. At the launch of the Flipkart Health+ app, the chief executive officer of Flipkart, Prashant Jhaveri, said: “Through Flipkart Health+, we aim to solve the critical gap of accessibility to genuine medicines and healthcare products and services across the country, especially in the remotest parts of the country that have been underserved until now.” Initially, the app is providing free delivery but plans to charge ₹50 in the future.
