New Bajaj Chetak Electric: Key Updates and Features

The latest version of the Bajaj Chetak EV introduces significant upgrades, both in terms of performance and design. The new range comes with an upgraded platform, additional features, and a modernized aesthetic. One of the most noticeable updates is an increase in the seat length, which has been extended by 80mm to 725mm, providing more comfort for riders. Additionally, the scooter now offers a 35-litre under-seat storage space, enough to fit two helmets, making it highly practical for daily use.

Extended Wheelbase and Improved Ergonomics

The Bajaj Chetak EV now features a longer wheelbase, extended by 25mm, which improves the overall stability of the scooter. The floorboard has also been extended, further improving rider ergonomics. These updates are designed to ensure that the scooter delivers a smoother and more comfortable riding experience, particularly for longer commutes.

Battery Upgrade and Enhanced Performance

The updated Chetak EV is equipped with a new 3.5kWh battery, which is protected by a sturdier metal sheet, providing better durability. The motor produces 5.6bhp of power, allowing the scooter to reach a top speed of 73 km/h. Thanks to a redesigned cooling system for the motor and controllers, the scooter now offers a significantly improved range of 153 km on a single charge, up from the previous 125 km.

Furthermore, the Bajaj Chetak EV comes with a 950-watt onboard charger, which facilitates a 0-80% charge in just 3 hours, ensuring convenience for users who need to quickly recharge their scooter during the day.

Bajaj Chetak Electric: Design Refresh

In addition to the performance upgrades, the Chetak EV also receives a refreshed design that keeps its look modern and attractive. The scooter features a neo-classic styling with a circular headlamp equipped with Daytime Running Lights (DRL). The Chetak badge, metallic finish, integrated turn indicators, and sleek apron further enhance the overall appeal of the scooter.

At the rear, the design maintains continuity with the earlier model, with an extended tail section featuring updated tail lamps and the signature Chetak logo. These design elements combine to provide the new Chetak EV with a stylish and timeless look.

Digital Instrument Cluster and Advanced Features

The updated Bajaj Chetak EV comes with a 5-inch touch TFT display, offering a digital instrument cluster that provides essential information about the vehicle. The display also integrates navigation with maps, music controls, and smartphone connectivity, making it easy for riders to access important features while on the go.

The Chetak EV has moved away from traditional mechanical switches in favor of tactile ones, providing a more modern and responsive feel. In terms of safety, the scooter comes with advanced features such as accident alerts, geo-fencing, overspeed warnings, and theft detection, enhancing the overall safety and security of the vehicle.

Market Competition and Availability

The new Bajaj Chetak EV will continue to compete with other popular electric scooters like the Ather 450X, TVS iQube, and Ola S1 in the growing Indian electric vehicle market. With improved features, a more durable battery, and an upgraded design, the Chetak EV is poised to offer a compelling alternative to these competitors. Bookings for the new Chetak EV are already open, with deliveries scheduled to begin by the end of the year.
