Amazon Prime Video has revealed the launch of FanCode, marking its entry into dedicated sports streaming. The channel will cater to Indian sports enthusiasts, offering live coverage of both domestic and international sports.
Amazon Prime Video has confirmed partnerships with premier sports leagues and organizations, promising to showcase more than 15 sports genres, including cricket, football, rugby, kabaddi, basketball, and horse racing to audiences in India.
To access FanCode, users will require a subscription to Prime Video, starting at Rs 249. The platform boasts exclusive rights to prominent sports events such as ICC Pathways, Cricket West Indies, EFL, CONMEBOL, Volleyball World, and FIBA.
Prime members will enjoy live streams of events like Carabao Cup, Women’s Big Bash League, FIFA U17 World Cup, Barclays Women’s Super League, AFC Champions League, AFC Cup, Yuva Kabaddi, Super Smash, and England tour of the West Indies by year-end.
Vivek Srivastava, head of Prime Video Channels, India, highlighted the move, expressing eagerness to provide easy access to a wide array of sports, acknowledging the nation's passionate sports following. Additionally, Prime members can access multiple titles across 22 OTT services, including BBC Player, Animax + GEM, Lionsgate Play, discovery+, Eros Now, and more.
Over the past four years, FanCode has streamed over 45,000 hours of live sports content, cementing its position in the sports streaming domain. The collaboration between Prime Video and FanCode signifies an effort to expand access to premium sports content, aiming to reach a broader audience of sports enthusiasts across the country.
Yannick Colaco, co-founder of FanCode, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership and the opportunity to extend FanCode's premium content through Prime Video Channels, emphasizing FanCode's status as the platform's inaugural sports service.
