Amazon and Verizon are teaming up with each other in order to expand rural broadband in the United States of America. Amazon CEO Andy Jassy has said in his statement that the company is proud to provide fast and reliable broadband services to the customers and communities who need it most.
Amazon is working on a network of 3,236 satellites under a project called project Kuiper. The company plans to provide high-speed internet access along with extending wireless coverage to rural and remote communities across the United States. The company has not yet sent satellites to orbit, for the launch of satellites the company has signed a deal with the United Launch Alliance that includes the launch of a total of nine satellites.
