On Thursday, an additional 42.5 MW capacity has been officially added to Ramagundam floating solar project in the state of Telangana, by the state-run National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC). Prior to this, NTPC had commissioned 17.5 MW (Part-I) and 20 MW (Part-II) of the Ramagundam floating solar project. With this latest addition, the Ramagundam project’s total power generation capacity has reached 80 MW and is just 20 MW short of its sanctioned capacity of 100 MW. In a Bombay Stock Exchange filing, the company stated: "Consequent upon successful commissioning, the third part capacity of 42.5 MW of 100 MW Ramagundam Floating Solar PV Project at Ramagundam, Telangana, is declared on commercial operation with effect from 00:00 hrs. of March 24, 2022." NTPC further informed that the total commercially operational capacity of NTPC has reached around 54494.68 MW.
