News Synopsis

Adani Transmission, the transmission and distribution arm of Adani Group is expecting strong growth opportunities through its acquisition and improvement in the last mile connectivity.

It recognises distribution as one of its key and core strengths as it generates more than two-thirds of its revenue from its transmission network.

The CEO of Adani Transmission, Anil Sardana has said that acquisition has been a very formidable growth paradigm in the transmission side and the company has acquired the distribution business in Mumbai and Mundra. So the company will continue to look at various private sector holdings in distribution as possible growth opportunities.

The company quadrupled its transmission network to 3,080 circuit kilometres in the third quarter and commissioned 890 circuit kilometres at Ghatampur Transmission in Uttar Pradesh.

Other than that the company commissioned 481 circuit kilometres at Bikaner Khetri Transmission and 292 circuit kilometres at Fatehgarh- Bhadla Transmission in Rajasthan.

The company also said that it is looking forward to building, owning, operating and maintaining the transmission project in the state of Madhya Pradesh for a period of 35 years. Even though the transmission and distribution business has a strong potential, the transmission and distribution losses are still the biggest roadblock in India’s mission to provide ‘Power for All.’
