Ecuador, the Spanish term for the Equator. We all know what the equator is, an imaginary line on the Earth that divides the earth into the northern and the southern hemisphere. But we are not here for a geography lesson.

Today we are looking at the country that lies at the Equator. A place where you cannot walk in a straight line, but you can balance an egg on a nail. A place where you do not need to have a watch to know the time and a place where your shadow disappears twice a year completely.

Ecuador is one of the countries from where the Equator line passes through. The country is known for many things but one of them is The Ciudad Mitad del Mundo. It is situated in the Quito city of the country. It is also called the Monument of The Equator and contains a yellow line that is the equator line. People visit the place to fulfill their dream to walk on the line for one’s. There are many other monuments that are present on the equator lines.

The country does not only have this monument but so many new things that you will not see anywhere else in the world. The other thing that is different from the other world is that the shadow of one disappears twice a year. This happens due to the reason of the Sun being right above you.

One more thing that is different about it is the Coriolis Effect. This makes cyclones not go in the left or right direction.

The weather in this place is either wet or dry. For most of the time throughout the year, the weather is humid due to the constant rain. The weather is also hot because the sun is close to the Equator.

The capital of the country, Quito is the second-highest capital in the world and this results in less oxygen. A high altitude leaves the place with less oxygen level and you can get tired by a simple run in this place. Climbing 10 steps will feel like climbing a mountain.

The cars or whatever vehicle you use, no matter how fancy it is, will always be slower due to the oxygen levels. Not only this the battery to your electronic device will discharge much sooner than in other places.

Not only this, Ecuador has one of the most remote islands in the world, The Galapagos Island. The island is home to many species that are rare and can’t be found anywhere else in the world. This includes so many species like Marine Iguanas, The Galapagos Turtle, Galapagos sea lion. The species evolved because the island is uninterrupted and they lived there naturally for thousands of years. Being a remote island helped them to evolve through time. We all would have learned about the Evolution Theory of Darwin. After visiting The Galapagos Island, Charles Darwin understood the concept of evolution. He noticed the changed features of The animals on the island and the island has a major role in this theory.
