Since countries are looking to open their economies, corporations are also considering reopening their offices. But a post-COVID world requires re-opening strategies. Let’s have a look at the 5 most talked-about re-opening strategies. 

Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit us last year, everything has been shut down. Countries across the world imposed strict lockdown and COVID guidelines. These lockdown guidelines advised every public space to shut down till further notice. Offices, schools, restaurants, cinema halls, parks, malls, airports, etc. all were shut down vociferously by nations across the world. While businesses had to suffer, schools and offices adopted the ways of the internet. They adapted the work-from-home model. This has been going for almost a year now. But since many countries are now going through the re-opening phase, corporations are also thinking of opening their offices.

But in a post-COVID world, everything comes with a challenge. Hence corporations cannot go all out at once and ask employees to come for 5-6 days a week. There has to be a re-opening strategy that can effectively reduce the chances of Corona spread and help the office run smoothly. Well as they say, where there is a will, there is a way. Corporations have figures out few plans or re-opening strategies. Listed below are 5 of the strategies big corporations are using to re-open their offices.

1. The '3-2' plan

This is a plan where employees will only come for 3 days a week and not for 5 days. This way people can slowly adapt to the 'Normal' times as we have all been stuck inside our houses for a whole year. And because of this many employees have now become used to working-from-home. The '3-2' plan will help them get back on their feet. The plan was first adopted by Apple, followed by Amazon and then Google.

2. Equal Split

As the name itself suggest, this strategy suggests that employees would spend half their time in the office and half, working from home. It will also ensure that the change isn't sudden since many employees have started liking working from home. It allows them certain ease and they can spend more time with their families. The first company to adopt this model was Microsoft. Microsoft is planning to open its offices in the U.S by September 2021 and they'll be using this strategy. Two other companies that have adopted the same model are Adobe and DoorDash, which is a delivery app company.

3. Mostly WFH

Again as the name itself suggests quite emphatically, this strategy suggests that employees would spend most of their working hours at home. In this strategy, employees will be given a choice to decide how much time they'd like to spend in the office. It was first adopted by Salesforce, followed by Dropbox and then Grammarly.

4. All Remote

In this, no employees, who prefer working from home, will be asked to come to the office. This model suggests that employees whose job doesn't require them to work from the office, they'd be given a choice to work from home indefinitely or maybe split the time between the office and home. This strategy was adopted by Twitter first. The company said that they will fully support their employees with whatever decision they make.

5. Work Anywhere

This strategy is the most liberal one on the list as it suggests that employees are free to relocate anywhere they want. This means that an employee is free to travel anywhere in the world and work from there. This strategy has been adopted by GoPro. The company said that if their employees want to relocate anywhere, they'd be more than happy to make their wish come true. All they want is a happy and satisfied employee.
