"Think-20" Preparatory Meeting For The "G-20" Summit Will Begin Today In Bhopal

After having the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas and the Global Investment Summit, two major international events, in Indore, the Madhya Pradesh government will begin hosting the Think-20 preparatory meetings for the G-20 summit in Bhopal on Monday.
At least 94 representatives from various foreign countries will reportedly attend the two-day meeting (Jan. 16–17) at the Kushabhau Thakre Convention Center in Bhopal, according to information provided by the state government.
According to a government statement released on Monday, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan will attend the meeting's opening session, during which specialists and foreign guests will discuss a variety of topics including "Global Governance with LIFE, Values, and Well-being."
Slamet Soedarsono, the deputy minister for political affairs, law, and security in Indonesia, Harsh Vardhan Shringla, the chief coordinator for India's G20 presidency, and Suman Bery, the vice chair of NITI Aayog, will also address during the opening session.
Sachin Chaturvedi, the director general of the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), and Sujan Chinoy, the director general of the Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, will both speak at the session.
In addition to these, there will be 10 parallel sessions on a variety of topics on the first day, including institutional framework, financing resilient cities and societies, economic system transformation, and one on health wellness and traditional medicine.
"Think-20 is an important part of the G-20 engagement groups in which the world's research institutions discuss G20-related issues. We are very well placed to provide solutions that the world wants to see the G20 address as well as take bold, inclusive and result-oriented steps under our presidency," said Harshvardhan Shringla, the Chief Co-ordinator for Think-20 appointed by the Centre.
