News Synopsis

Tata Motors will showcase seven passenger vehicles (PVs) including concept versions of the Nexon i-CNG, Curve and Harrier.EV at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024.

There is a lot of excitement about the inaugural edition of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo to be held from 1st to 3rd February 2024. This is the second major mobility show in India after the biennial Auto Expo, which will focus on upcoming sustainable and clean mobility solutions.

Tata Motors is one of the key participants, and the company has shared the list of its passenger vehicles, which will be showcased at the event to be held at Pragati Maidan, Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. And have a look at some interesting prototypes from Tata Motors, which will take shape as full production models in the near future.

Tata Nexon i-CNG Concept:

Tata Motors has been working on the CNG version of Nexon for a long time. The test mules of the subcompact SUV with CNG powertrain were spotted on several occasions in the past as well. The carmaker will introduce the CNG-powered Nexon at the time of the launch of the facelifted Nexon in September 2023.

The company will showcase the new Nexon i-CNG concept in the 2024 BMGE. And the prototype on display is expected to be an almost production-exclusive model of the same, and it is expected to carry the same design as its ICE (internal combustion engine) counterpart. There are no specific details about its powertrain yet, that Tata will offer the Nexon CNG the same 1.2-litre turbo petrol unit as the ICE Nexon, but in a different state of tune.

Tata Curve Concept:

While Tata Motors has already revealed the Curve Concept on more than one occasion, the prototype to be presented at the upcoming exhibition will be the closest to production. As mentioned earlier, it will be available in both ICE and EV derivatives. Production models, like the Concept, will also take a longer stance, courtesy of a sharply tapped coupe-like roof with a sporty profile.

Tata Altroz Racer Concept:

Tata Motors will also reveal the new Altroz Racer concept in the inaugural BMGE. A test mule of the same was also spotted during a recent test. The biggest attraction of the Altroz Racer will be the new 1.2-litre TGDI turbocharged petrol motor from Tata Motors. This unit is expected to produce a maximum output of 125 bhp at 5,000 rpm and 225 Nm of torque at 1,700-3,500 rpm.

This is much more than the current Altroz i-Turbo on sale. When launched later this year, the Altroz racer will be a direct rival to the Hyundai i20 N Line.

Tata Harrier EV Concept:

Tata has been working on a full electric derivative of the Harrier for a long time. The company had introduced its prototype at the Auto Expo last year. The new display model at BMGE is expected to be closer to production. Tata Motors is also expected to reveal some of the key features of the Harrier EV at the upcoming auto exhibition. That it will come to market by the end of this year.

Apart from the above-mentioned models, the 2024 BMGE will also feature cars like the new Safari Dark Concept, Safari, the recently launched Punch.EV and Nexon.EV Dark Edition at the Tata Motors pavilion.
