PM Modi To Address 90th Interpol General Assembly Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the 90th Interpol General Assembly on Tuesday at Pragati Maidan. The Interpol General Assembly will be held from October 18 to 21. In a statement issued from the Prime Minister's Office, it was said that representatives of 195 member countries of Interpol will participate in the meeting. These will include ministers, police chiefs of countries, national central bureau chiefs, and senior police officers.
The Pakistani delegation has also registered in the Interpol General Assembly. According to sources, the two-member Pakistani delegation will be headed by a Director General-level officer of the Federal Investigation Agency.
According to the Prime Minister's Office, the delegates include ministers from member states, police chiefs, central bureau chiefs, and senior police officers. The General Assembly is the supreme governing body of Interpol. It meets once a year to take important decisions related to its functioning. Various aspects of financial crimes and corruption will be discussed in the meeting.
Interpol General Assembly meeting is being held in India after 25 years. The last time this General Assembly was held in India was in 1997. This year's General Assembly is being organized in New Delhi on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of India's independence. The General Assembly will also be attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Interpol President Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, and its General Secretary Jurgen Stock. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address its closing ceremony on October 21.
