News Synopsis

Mahindra is started road-testing of its first mainstream electric SUV. The test mule has confirmed at the first glance that the new car is based on the XUV300. The charging socket is placed on the front left fender, which confirms that the vehicle is not a standard internal combustion engine vehicle.

The electric SUV is expected to come with a closed-off grille and unique design elements like blue accents. Not much is revealed about the car but according to the concept presented at the Auto Expo, it can come with two battery pack options including 350V and 380V.

The company announced the details about the car two years ago, and this is the reason why many believe that there could be some differences in the model that will go into production by 2024.

Mahindra has announced that it will launch a total of eight electric vehicles by 2027. It will launch new SUVs starting 2025 and four cars will be derived from its range of petrol and diesel products. Mahindra is not planning a separate sub-brand for its range of electric vehicles.
